Quarter Two
This quarter, we discussed the concept of discipleship and why its important. The quarter explored our roles and disciples of Jesus and our duty as disciples. Later, our knowledge and understanding was assessed through a test about discipleship. This test was my best work because it assessed both my ability to remember and my ability to understand. In my education background, most were focused on the latter, and I have poor memory, so the assessment of the former was a good way for me to practice my memory skills. However, the ability to understand is, in my opinion, more important, so collaborating both made a holistic test. During the test, what i did best was thinking quickly. I remembered the verses and the content, but I could not remember the specific verses in the Bible. In the future, I should take more care to also remember the specifics on the verse, so that when I refer to them, I can use them based on context of the text before applying it to the context. I should also work harder on looking more closely into text instead for taking it just as it is, because the Bible is full of thought and hidden meanings. This quarter, the key concept is relationship. Through understanding the relationship between God and His disciples, I was able to further my understanding on a spiritual relationship, adding to my knowledge on the concept. I could see what would happen if a person learns to devote themselves to Him, and how a person can build that relationship.

Quarter One
This quarter in Biblical Studies, the main focus of learning was on Jesus' teachings and the book of Matthew. We learned about what Jesus says in the Bible, what Jesus tells us to do, and how preaches. Personally, I understood further the contrast of Jesus' ministry against that of the Pharisees, and how He presented Himself to others so that they would receive His blessings. For this assignment, we were put into groups and told to discuss specific chapters in the book of Matthew with a group, then create a presentation that can inform others on our learnings. This presentation was my best work, because it showed that I had knowledge on the book of Matthew and Jesus' ministry. I was also able to answer relevant questions with confidence and assurance, as proof that I understand the book. In the future, however, I should be more keen in reading these chapters and study them more, so that I would have an improved understanding and, hopefully, learn things from those passages that I have missed in the past. For this assignment, I got a score of 7, 8, and 8, each over a criteria of 8. The key concept that relates to this assignment is culture, because in understanding Jesus' ministry through Matthew, I also understand how people culturally viewed His ministry, and how belief has changed between then and now. I've learned about how Jesus interacts with the community He's preaching to, and how He chooses to teach. The quarter was also effective in teaching the key concept of culture through the affirmation of the complexity of human relationships when different perspectives clash, as such teaching is exemplified in Jesus' ministry and how he approaches different groups of people.
My goal in Biblical Studies this year is to deepen my Biblical knowledge. I would like to also improve my attitude through the things that I lean trough Biblical Studies, especially my outlook on other people.
