My Goals in the Eight Grade
I have many goals in my life, some are school related and some aren't. These goals are continuously progressing, resulting in my-self either inching towards the goal, or changing it slightly, if not completely. In this specific academic year, I hope to accomplish several things. First of all, I would like to improve my ability in reading well-written quality literature. I hope to learn to enjoy books and understand statements that are more advanced then my current literate state. Second, I would like to improve my writing, both in the english language and my native Indonesian. My personal opinion is that writing is one of the best ways to share experiences and opinions to varying communities. Through words, I hope to gain the ability of expanding the perspectives of different people, so that they may have a glimpse of the world through my eyes. I do not, how ever, want to change their complete opinion of the world, for that would make the world a boring world to live in. Third, I would like to develop my public speaking abilities. The problem that I encounter when speaking is the fact that small crowds freak me out. With big crowds, I mentally convince my self that they have a lot of things in their own minds and that I am nothing more then a minor distraction in their lives that they're forced to listen to and will bore them to death. This way, I don't feel all eyes looking at me so I can actually speak. With small crowds, I feel and I can see all eyes looking at me expectantly, and so I get nervous and I start speaking what I define as gibberish. I hope to demolish that feeling so that I can speak confidently in both smaller and larger crowds. Fourth, I would also like to improve my positive thinking abilities, so that I don't feel like it's the apocalypse every time I find my self doing a mistake. Usually, after the realization comes the panic, then comes the depression, then I feel like because of that tiny detail that I missed my whole education will be ruined because I wasn't careful enough. Then I usually get angry at my self and punish my self in different ways (I don't mean self harm by the way don't worry I don't believe in self harm I think it is a selfish and ignorant thing to do). I want to learn to accept it if I have made a mistake that cannot be changed, I want to learn from my mistakes and use the mistake as motivation in the future. Fifth, I would like to improve my logical thinking, because logic will help me in many different areas in life. It may seem that logic is specific to math, but I personally think that every area of education needs logic. Think of a lesson/class/situation, you will definitely need logic to accomplish it. Sixth, I would like to learn how to simplify my words so that I will be capable of telling them in a smaller amount of words. Or all my school essays will be this long, because I particularly and actually enjoy analyzing statements. For example, a short sentence like "The world is your playground" I can develop into an entire paragraph this long. I think that I should stop talking now because this is so long. So, yeah these are my goals.
SURVIVAL PENDING.
