Quarter Two
This quarter in Biblical Studies, we continued our study on "wisdom" but focused more on how to act wise. Because of that, we were given the final assignment of crafting a movie that would reflect ways and examples we should "Tame the Tongue." This included two parts, the first being at least two examples of situations where it's important that we tame our tongue, and the second being an analysis on those situations based on a bible verse. The assignment was done in groups, and my group consisted of Lidya, Olivia, Sasa and I. We decided that the two situations we would take is "Immediate Reaction (the things we say that are immediate and come as a reaction to different situations)" and "Emotional Reaction (the things we say that are based on a heavy emotional force we are feeling on a certain day)." The movie we created was about 5 minutes long, and the analysis we did on the spot. This is my best work this quarter because it reflects the effort I put into the assignments I receive when I enjoy the assignments. What I think my group and I did well for this product was time-management; we filmed all the necessary parts at school exclusively, and managed to finish filming early. This also meant that we had more time to edit, so whilst most other groups panicked on the editing the night before, we managed to finish the editing two days preceding the due date, which made us calm during the presentation of our movie. To improve in the future, we should deepen our analysis of the situations. This relates with the Global Context "Globalization and Sustainability" because in the societies and communities that we live in, it's important to develop and maintain healthy relationships. When we don't tame our tongue, the things we say may damage those relationships and communities. Through taming the tongue, we educate ourselves on how we should communicate and interact with others, and help others improve their communication as well.
