God's Image
This quarter in Biblical Studies, we learned about different things that all contribute to our Biblical growth. One of the assignments was to create a collage that showed God's Images in our life. The students were to choose one of God's Images, the image that I choose is Emotional. Being emotional means that we try (and make an effort) to relate to the people around us, and that we share our love with Him. God is the source of all our emotions, and it is ever-so-important for us to remember that He is the giver of life, and that without Him we would be worthless. We still are - worthless sinful creations - but because He died on the cross for us, we have gained but a little worth. His sacrifice reminds us to love Him, like it tells us in Matthew 22 : 37 - 38; "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself." This scripture reminds us of how important it is to Love God no matter what.
What I think I did well in this assignment is portraying the meaning of the Bible Verse. The colorful colors in the collage show the different emotions we have. The hanging ornaments symbolize different parts of the verse, and everything else has it's own significant meaning. The letters and the bottom actually spell out "Emotion" if you line them up side by side. What I need to improve next time, however, is in reading the criteria that tells me to relate it to myself. In the reflection, I related it to humans in general. Next time I should pay more attention to the criteria, and I should create a deeper and more meaningful reflection, too. In this class, I showed the IB Leaner Profile thinker because prior to the creation I had to think of the message that I wanted to deliver through the collage. I had to think of different ways to portray my message, and choose the one that had the most direct message attached to, taking into consideration the meaning of the verse and how the layout would look best.
